A while back I picked up a 34 Coupe at a local yard sale. Gave a whole $2.50 for it. The model had been built, but rather poorly. The nice thing was it was complete. I figured I would try to rebuild it sometime down the road. After I got the car I managed to clean up most of the parts. I couldn't save the engine though, way too much glue, and it broke apart when I tried to take it apart. Anyway, sometime has arrived. I got the model out the day before yesterday and got started on it. So far I have gotten most of the parts cleaned up and painted. The body is going to be Candy Green over Silver and has the first coat applied. I got a Chevy 283 out of my parts box and will be using it. I'll post more as things go along.

It's going together pretty well. I had not stripped the interior bucket so it is sitting in the pond until tomorrow. I got what was intended to be the final coat of candy on this morning. As you can see in the rear view, there are three spots that need desperately to be rubbed out and resprayed. I'm going to let it sit for a week or so to dry thoroughly and then ger-r-done.

looks like you used enamel paint. That stuff is a bear ta spray. You gotta spray it in really light coats or it'll pull away from the door edges and any raised points and build up in all the crevices.

You called it Bill. Testors Enamel. I thought I had sprayed it in light enough coats. First coat went on just fine. The second coat though came out like you see it. Gonna slow me down. I'll be glad when I can get my spray booth back in action and be using an airbrush again. Going to be next spring though. Until then it's aerosol.
